If #2
(We got a lot of great comments on the last "If" question, so here's a new one.)

I would ask him if all the religions of the world were created by Him.
God, why do you answer "yes" to some faithful Christians, like my wife and I, and no to others?
Neva: First, thanks for stopping by my blog! :) I've enjoyed browsing through yours and getting to know you better. You really hit is with your post on Vinnie. The more Christ-like we become, the less people will fall through the cracks. To that end we pray!
To answer your "If" question ... I would ask God to tell me specifically (in a voice I can hear) what He wants me to do. Everywhere I look I see people with needs, ministries falling apart and opportunities yet to be siezed. I'm only one person. I would love to know exactly what God wants me doing with my time and resources --- today, tomorrow ... every day. I get so easily distracted juggling kids, family, home, friends, church, neighbors. If there is something I should be doing that I'm not, I want to know.

Since birth, one of my brothers has struggled with mental illness, as did one of my uncles and two cousins. I would ask God, why have you allowed mental illness in some of your children? It seems cruel and certainly undeserving to those who live it day in and day out. I love God any way and don't doubt as a result of this, but I do tend to wonder about this heartbreaking burden.
Love you, Neva!

Wow, I can't believe I have to limit it to only one. I've already spent some time thinking about this today & have yet to come up with my #1 Question, so I guess I'll have to stop by again later. :)
I think I would ask Him if I was interpreting His word and His desires correctly. That would truly answer so many questions.
Good post,
Pat
I would ask Him how He could love me so much.
Good question
Jean
I liked this post as well as the others. Mostly I think I would ask God to help me understand him and what he wants from me.

Thanks for putting in those verses they really helped. I am still looking at the answers you sent and have a few more to send. You have been incredibly helpful. I like reading what you right.
I would ask Him why he slaughtered women and children in the Old Testament, yet preaches love and hope in the New Testament.
I would ask God to tell me about Heaven and hell. (I am already sure I don't want to go to hell, but would still like to know)
Thought provoking, can I come back and change it later?

There was a comercial on a local radio station that ask this question. The answer the guy gave had something to do with why did his shoelaces always break at the most inopportune times? He went on to observe that the Bible answers the rest of the important questions. You may disagree with this observation. I had a slightly different take. Yes the answers are there, I just need to look for them (and that can be tough).
If given the opportunity to ask a question of God, my answer is with Jean. How can God love me, a sinner, so much?
James
I read some of the posts and quite agree with Pat about asking God to guide me in my endeavor to please Him, to help me more fully to understand His Word for me. Mostly I wonder if I give Him enough praise and adoration.
One question is too limiting as I have lots of questions I would like the answer to and most of those are off the wall topics as His Word fully answers all my needs. I also realize that when I am in His presence my questions will no longer probably matter or be of any significance for all that really matters is to be in His presence.
Neva this is a most thought provoking post one that makes me think and my thoughts are of God.
thanks and God's blessing for you and yours.

I would ask what I already ask, for forgiveness for my ingratitude and weakness.

Ditto what massivetruth said above. It's a question I've been struggling with for a few years now.
I would ask why He would take servants like Eddie, my friend Guy Ward, and Rich Mullins at such a young age and untimely moments in their lives. Why can't He leave the ones that are doing good works and take the ones who are not?
